These provide an essential starting point for making changes and improvements in the design and production of our ranges.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>LCA is the most advanced tool for the global assessment of the environmental impacts of a product.<\/strong> It identifies and quantifies each stage throughout the life of a product. The aim was to use recycled materials obtained from plastic bottles for the synthetic insulation of the Rossignol Softgoods (textile) range. This certification attests that the polyester used is 100% recycled. The GRS standard includes additional criteria for social and environmental requirements in terms of processing and restrictions on chemical composition.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3820\" src=\"https:\/\/www.grouperossignol.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/21092022-RSE-Concevoir-11-300x151.png\" alt=\"Logo Sympatex\" width=\"159\" height=\"80\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Since 2018, we have been using SympaTex, a PFC-free, <strong>100% recyclable waterproof<\/strong>, windproof and breathable membrane on shell jackets and trousers (freeride\/freerando).<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Rossignol Group also uses certified materials for the design of its products.<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3821\" src=\"https:\/\/www.grouperossignol.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/21092022-RSE-Concevoir-12.png\" alt=\"Logo certification GOTS\" width=\"100\" height=\"100\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>GOTS<\/strong> (Global Organic Textile Standard) certification guarantees the organic status of the textile fibres used.<\/p>\n<p>By 2023, some of our T-shirts and summer trousers will be made from GOTS-certified organic cotton.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3822\" src=\"https:\/\/www.grouperossignol.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/21092022-RSE-Concevoir-13.png\" alt=\"OEKO-TEX\" width=\"188\" height=\"60\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">We use materials that are <strong>OEKO-TEX<\/strong> certified, i.e. free of substances that are harmful to the body and the environment. A verification process has been implemented and allows us to retrieve all the associated certificates.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">We have also <strong>clarified and enhanced the requirements we place on our suppliers by publishing a new code of conduct:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li>Down, feathers and hides must be by-products of the food industry;<\/li>\n<li>The use of down and feathers obtained by live plucking of animals is prohibited;<\/li>\n<li>The use of down and feathers from the foie gras industry is prohibited.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">In addition, the Group has not used animal fur since 2018 and also uses no angora wool (since 2020) or mohair (since 2021).<strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Finally,<strong> from the 2023-2024 season onwards<\/strong>, we will be adopting<strong> PFC-free technologies for water-repellent treatments. <\/strong>At present, this is the best way of ensuring product resistance and performance while preserving the environment.<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_tta_accordion shape=\u00a0\u00bbsquare\u00a0\u00bb c_icon=\u00a0\u00bbchevron\u00a0\u00bb c_position=\u00a0\u00bbright\u00a0\u00bb active_section=\u00a0\u00bb3&Prime; collapsible_all=\u00a0\u00bbtrue\u00a0\u00bb][vc_tta_section title=\u00a0\u00bbWater repellency treatment: PFC Free\u00a0\u00bb tab_id=\u00a0\u00bb1663918120250-6bf6f786-9107&Prime;][vc_row_inner content_placement=\u00a0\u00bbmiddle\u00a0\u00bb][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">To make products waterproof, the textile industry has long used PFC (perfluorocarbon) treatments. These are synthetic chemicals used as water repellents that allow water to run off as drops instead of seeping into products. However, these chemicals have been identified as being carcinogenic and acting as endocrine disruptors. The aim is to simplify the supply and manufacture of products, but also to limit the risks of raw material obsolescence at the end of the manufacturing cycle. Finally, in cases where it is difficult to reduce the number of materials used, these efforts facilitate the recycling of the products at the end of their life (see the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rossignol.com\/essential\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Essential<\/a> Ski).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">With regard to ski decoration, the inkjet printing process has been progressively improved in recent years at Rossignol and has been implemented for significant quantities of products. The result is<strong> a product with a recyclability rate of 77%.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Constructed according to a simple philosophy, <strong>the ESSENTIAL ski boasts an eco-design incorporating certified natural, recycled and bio-sourced materials, a graphic design process using no solvents or water, and is produced using renewable energy<\/strong>.
